Wantable Fitness Edit February 2020 Review
Hey, everyone! This is my first Wantable Fitness Edit review. You may have been following along with Anna or Haley's Wantable Fitness reviews in the past; since this clothing subscription is tailored to your personal preferences, my review will show different types of clothes chosen by my stylist. Ready to see what was hidden under that lovely packaging?
I was first greeted with this cheery pamphlet that opened to show the notes I provided when I signed up. I indicated that I'm most drawn to earth tones but that black clothing is always a solid choice for me, too. I mentioned that I've never tried a matching set of workout clothes before but that I'd love to! I also shared what type of exercise I do on a typical week—it's a bit across the board, so anything goes in terms of what categories of clothes I'm open to trying.
Also shown is the message my stylist made for me. I was happy to see before I even took the clothes out of the box that she sent me a matching set to try right off the bat! (Quick note on stylists: with this subscription your stylist does change from month to month, unlike with other services where you grow a relationship with one stylist.)
Wantable promises to send 7 items to try each month. They are listed here along with prices, and if there are any items you Requested in the Stream, they indicate the date you made your request. I was pleased that 2 of my requested items made it in my first box, along with some surprises. I was also sent a bonus 8th item, which isn't listed on this receipt. More on that later.
This pre-paid shipping bag is included so that anything you decide not to keep can be quickly packed up and dropped off at the post office. Super convenient—some clothing subscriptions require returns to be made at specialty shipping drop-off locations, which, unlike post offices, can sometimes be hard to find.

Free People Movement Sunny Skinny Sweat in Black – Cost to Keep $48.00 (Sold out on the FP website but sold here)
This was the first of two items in my box that I had requested from the Wantable Stream. I had a lot of fun scrolling through their options and was tempted to Request everything I liked, but I also wanted to leave room for my stylist to make decisions for me so I practiced some restraint. I couldn't be more pleased with these pants! Sweats are something I typically pick up at Target for cheap, but I've found in recent years that they wear out quickly, so I wanted to try out some nicer quality ones. These are astoundingly soft and comfy, and while they might be too thick for workouts as spring approaches, I'll wear them for lounging until the thick of summer when it's hot at night. Definite keepers!

Soybu Giving Tank in Blackberry – Cost to Keep $44.00 (Found here in a different color for $26.58)
I didn't have a great feeling about this top when I pulled it out of my box—its material is rather clingy and drapey. Drapey isn't always something I avoid, but it just wasn't falling right on me, and I found it to be entirely unflattering and a bit impractical in my workout wardrobe. I also probably wouldn't have chosen this color for myself, though trying new things is half the fun of clothing subscriptions, so I tried it on with an open mind. Ultimately it didn't work for me.

Interval Keyhole Back Muscle Tank in Black – Cost to Keep $38.00 (Couldn't find purchasable link; see on Wantable here)
Here's another top that didn't seem like much when I pulled it out of the box, but in this case it turned out to be one I loved! While still a bit of a loose fit, the cut was leagues more flattering on me, and I felt immediate comfort and confidence come over me. Especially with those comfy sweats. I was on (in?) a cloud! I can see myself running in it, or just wearing it with a casual non-athleisure outfit. I kept this top.

This jacket has a lot of merits—it gets points for a sturdy zipper, zipped pockets, a roomy hood, and thumbholes. It seems well-made. Unfortunately my new sweatpants and black tank top gave me crazy high comfort standards, and this layer just didn't feel cozy enough for me, especially because I have a few jackets I like. If I were to keep this, I could see it being great for hikes in the spring or fall, but alas, I sent it back.

Colosseum Ava Bra in Tie Dye – Cost to Keep $49.00 (Found here for $46)
Okay, here we go, the first piece in the coordinating sent I was sent (yay)! My first thought was, "hmm, this is kind of the opposite of the earth tones I had requested," but I do appreciate a good fun tie dye so I gave it a chance. Unfortunately it just didn't fit to my liking—I tightened the straps a good deal, but the front still didn't sit flat, giving it a bumpy appearance under a shirt, and the removable padding gave it a push-up fit, which isn't my jam. Darn.

Amour Leggings in Tie Dye – Cost to Keep $69.00
The matching tie dye leggings were a better experience. They had a well-thought-out design with a key pocket in the waistband, a fitted pocket at each hip, and sturdy seaming. But they, too, weren't quite perfect for me—they were a hint too tight at my waist and felt a little thick going into the warmer weather ahead. I weighed the pros and cons of this pair for a good while, and finally decided to send them back.
Note: When I signed up for Wantable, I was given a confirmation with a week-long delivery window of when to expect my box to arrive. On the final day of that promised window, I received an email from Wantable support saying that my box would be delayed, but it didn't suggest how long the wait would be. After three days passed with no communication, I emailed support asking for an update. I heard back promptly saying my stylist was waiting on a pair of leggings for me and that my box would ship soon. Two days later it shipped, and in the end my box arrived a full week later than the last date of the window that was originally promised. It was fine; to be certain I was feeling suspended by delayed gratification and extremely curious about what leggings could be so amazing that in a Stream brimming with leggings, no others would do. But beyond that I didn't have any specific urgency for my new clothes to try. All this to say, I suppose, that it's too bad the leggings didn't work out.

Spiritual Gangster Light Crew Neck Savasana in Night Blue – Cost to Keep $78.00
Here's the second item I Requested in my Stream before my box was styled, and a picture of me "being the light!" Jokes aside, I'm so excited about this pullover. While it's not at all in my go-to color family, the mantra on the front is one I really identify with, so I just had to give it a try. The weight of the top wasn't at all what I was expecting—I thought it would be a classic crew sweatshirt, but instead it's very lightweight, soft, and stretchy. If I could change one thing about it, I would switch out the blue for a mustard yellow or rust orange or olive green, but it felt too good on my body to send back.
Speaking of color, it was this pullover that had me scratching my head as I poked around the Wantable Stream on the day I made the Request for it. I really would've loved to have viewed all items carried by this brand, and/or other colorways are offered, but there's no way of filtering by those values—you can only filter by category (jackets/tops/bottoms/undergarments). I'm assuming the reason for this restriction is to leave the shopping in the hands of your stylist, but I personally find it very frustrating, especially since your stylist might change month by month and therefore I won't have the opportunity to build a relationship with someone who can learn my preferences.

Racerback Tank with Eyelet Side Detail in Black
This is the additional item I was sent this month: a second black top. I almost wonder if it was included in error, since it's similar to other items I received and it isn't listed on my receipt. I didn't like the way it fit, so I sent it back. I actually failed to realize that it was missing from my packing list before mailing it back with the rest of my return, so I'm not sure what it's called. And, because Wantable's Stream doesn't have a search function, I'm unable to track it down. If I had liked it and decided to keep it, I guess I would've had to have reached out to the support team to coordinate that transaction.
The Verdict: I always consider my first month with a clothing subscription service a trial run since we are still "getting to know each other," and all things considered, I'm really happy with my debut shipment from Wantable Fitness Edit! I decided to keep three items: the black sweatpants, slit-back black tank top, and the Be the Light pullover. I've worn each of them already! When asked by Wantable for feedback I shared that I'd love another matching set to try next time around, I reiterated the colors I feel most myself wearing, and I went ahead and Requested a few more items on the Stream to give my next stylist a better sense of what I'm drawn to.
FYI: Wantable doesn't have an automatic discount for buying these items through their service. If you keep five or more items from your order, you do get 20% off. Some items are listed as less than they'd be at retail, but for the most part, the items sent are listed at full price. From MSA reviewer Haley's experience, if you find an item sold at a lower cost on another brand's website, Wantable will price match.
